The Aon 100 at Morton Games brings some 20 athletes to the start line meaning that there will be qualifying races opening the programme before the final itself at just after 8 p.m.

Confirmed athletes include up and coming Jamaican star Chadic Hinds who has a PB of 10.12. Josh Swaray (SEN) has a PB of 10.20.  Also confirmed are top USA athletes Sean McLean and Jeff Demps, both with 10.01 pb’s standing to their names.

An interesting athlete competing in the Meet is young Brazilian athlete Eric de Jesus, a two time Brazilian champion coached by legendary 800 Olympian Jose Luis Barbosa.

The Irish interest in the 100 will revolve around young David McDonald of Shercock A.C., Eanna Madden of Carrick-on-Shannon and others who will be added to the field in the coming days. From Great Britain come several good sprinters including Aidan Syers, pb 10.32 and Imran Rahman, 10.39. European Championships semi finalist Przmyslaw Slowikowski (POL) , 10.27, is also a confirmed starter.
