Jade Lally confirms for Discus
Morton Games is delighted to have the confirmed participation of Rio Olympian Jade Lally (GBR) in the women`s Discus. The Meet Director said: ” We are delighted to have elevated the Women`s Discus competition from National status to an International event at this year`s meet, and to have secured in the field a number of top class athletes and in particular Jade Lally”.
Jade has been a world class athlete for a number of years, and was a bronze medallist at both the European U/23 Championships in 2009 and 2014 Commonwealth Games. Having been controversially omitted from the London Olympic team, she put that disappointment behind her to claim a spot on team GB for Rio. She is a regular competitor on the Diamond League circuit, in 2016 she competed in five DL meets, her best finish being 3rd in the London Anniversary Games.
With a PB of 65.10m the 23 year old Morton Stadium Record of 59.62 will hopefully be shattered on July 12th.
