A world class field is being assembled for the, first ever, Women’s 1500 at Morton Games with athletes chasing the world qualifying mark of 4.07.50.

Nicole Tully (USA) who has a best of 4.05.89 was the winner of the first Morton International Mile in 2011 and has also competed for the USA in the 2015 World Championships.  Alexa Efraimson (USA) has the fastest PB in the race 4.03.39. Also from the US Sara Sutherland, pb 4.06.43 One to watch will be 2014 World Indoor bronze medallist and Rio Olympian Nicole Sifuentes (CAN), who has a 2016 PB of 4.03.97 and a season’s best of 4.06.24.

Spain’s Marta Perez ran her PB on the 27th of May last, 4.07.35, she is a Spanish national champion and will be joined on the start line by her fellow national champion, the indoor Spanish champion, Blanca Fernandez, pb 4.13.07.

Making this a truly international field are Poland’s Karolina Giza, pb 4.11.18 and 2013 NCAA 1500 champion Natalja Pilusina (LIT), pb 4.09.51. Irish athletes confirmed are Claire Tarplee, vastly experienced at International level and Emma Mitchell, who has been setting North Irish records for fun all Summer.

If the field is not the best ever assembled it`s certainly coming close and by July 12th it will be!
