Two time Australian Olympian Collis Birmingham has been added to the Albie Thomas Memorial 5000 at next week`s Morton Games. Birmingham represented his country in both the 2008 and 2012 Games and has a 13.09.57 pb. He comes into a top class field that includes fellow Aussies Jack Rayner and Stewart McSweyn, Americans Brian Shrader, Joe Stelin, Tommy Curtin, a great group of British athletes including  Dewi Griffiths, Ben Connor and Jonny Taylor, Helio Gomes (POR), Ross Proudfoot (CAN).

The race is in memory of Albie Thomas (AUS) who set two World Records in Santry back in 1958. Morton Games are delighted to say that Nola Thomas, Albie`s wife, and indeed Robyn, Albie`s daughter, are making the trip to Santry from Australia and Nola will present the Albie Thomas Cup to the winner. Wouldn`t it be fitting it the winner was an Aussie.
